40th Annual Run Through the Pines
Registration is now open for the 40th Annual Run Through the Pines! Join us and help us celebrate one of Southern California's longest "running" runs, which started in August of 1979.
The run features a 10K, 5K run or walk, and racewalk. Walkers/Runners can enjoy a semi-paved roadway around Lake Gregory which passes scenic mountain and lake views. The run is at a 4,720 feet elevation, which makes it a perfect little challenge for mountain locals and especially those folks down the hill. Race day staging is at Lake Gregory Educational and Community Center, 24740 San Moritz Way, Crestline, CA 92325. Participants receive a goodie bag, enjoy music by Paid 2 Party DJ services, have access to water stations hosted by various community groups, are provided chip timing and computerized race results by Racewire, and receive locally designed event t-shirts (one size fits all), trophies for 1st place winners, and finisher medals. The course is patrolled by Emergency Communications. The run provides post-race refreshments, and the LAKE and PINES provide the FRESH COOL MOUNTAIN AIR!
The surrounding areas of Lake Gregory and the town of Crestline are filled with lots of quaint shops, delicious dining choices, and fun stuff to do. We encourage participants to stay and enjoy Lake Gregory, Downtown Crestline, and Top Town too!
If you can’t run in the run, you can still be a part of the run! The Run Through the Pines needs and appreciates volunteers, vendors, and sponsors. Without the support of the community this run would not be possible. Ardee Jagt, local runner and realtor of Cozy Cabins Realty is our 2019 Run Ambassador. Lake Gregory Recreation Company, Goodwin & Son’s Market, and Paid 2 Party Dj Services have signed up to sponsor the run. The Park District needs volunteers for course marshals, registration/check-in and race kit pick-up, water stations, start and finish line assistance, and route cheerleading. Volunteers can register online on Racewire.com. The Run Through the Pines is a mountain community event hosted by the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District. If you would like more information, please call the Park District office at (909) 337-7275 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
